Lots of NBA caliber players in this bracket. Just look at UNC, Oklahoma, Syracuse, Gonzaga and Arizona State to name a few. With or without Lawson, the Heels should be able to get to the Elite 8; Oklahoma, on the other hand, has a tougher road.

The Tar Heels will turn to Tyler Hansbrough for plenty of points and senior leadership.
|
(1) UNC
Sure, with Ty Lawson, UNC is the best team in the nation on paper. Without him though, the Heels are still solid. Nobody can stop them on offense and because of that it doesn't usually matter how many points they like to give up, because of how many points they tally from the paint, beyond the arc and from outer space.

The committee got the seeding in this bracket mostly right.

(7) Clemson
Yeah, the Tigers dropped out of the ACC tourney after day 1, but they deserved better than a 7 seed. Oh well, they'll take it out on their competition.

A.J. Slaughter and Western Kentucky will be this year's Cinderella.
|
(12) Western Kentucky
Yeah, you heard that right. Last year's last second heroics sent them into the next round, this year I think the Hilltoppers can get go the extra mile and get to the Sweet 16. Watch out for A.J. Slaughter - stud.

(12) Western Kentucky vs. (5) Illinois
WKU has already upset Louisville this year and add Illinois to their list. They have the tournament experience and the confidence to make a run in this year's dance.

(11) Temple vs. (6) Arizona St.
If you haven't heard of Dionte Christmas, you will on Friday and then again on Sunday. I'll leave it at that. Owls have the firepower to match Arizona State, that's for sure.

(14) Stephen F. Austin over (3) Syracuse
Don't even think about it. Yeah, the last time Syracuse played four games in four days in the Big East tourney, they dropped out of the NCAA tourney in the first round ... well third time's a charm. This 'Cuse team is too good this year.

(7)Clemson vs. (10) Michigan
This game pits two solid coaches with personnel that run their respected offenses to a 't'. Whichever team can stop the other will come out on top.

(2) Oklahoma vs. (7) Clemson
Blake Griffin is a beast, but Clemson is tough enough down low to give him a helluva game. Watch for Booker to match every push and shove down low that Griffin throws at him.

(16) Radford
Not just because good 'ole Radford is my alma mater, but the Highlanders went from 10-20 last year to 21-10 this season. Coach Brad Greenberg has done a tremendous job turning that program into a winner and while they may not have the horses to stay with UNC, expect them back next year and for them to probably make some noise.

(1) UNC vs. (7) Clemson
I like an all-ACC match-up in this region. Clemson should be motivated after losing to lowly Georgia Tech, UNc should have a healthy Lawson by then. Get ready for a serious barnburner.
